Task

In one day a wheat plant absorbed 264 g of carbon dioxide in photosynthesis and converted all the glucose formed into starch (gas volumes at STP). 1) Describe the light and dark (light-independent) stages of photosynthesis, where they occur and their main processes (water photolysis, ATP and NADPH synthesis, Calvin cycle). 2) Write the overall equation of photosynthesis (in the form showing photolysis) and the equation of water photolysis; describe the method. 3) Find the amount (mol) and mass of glucose formed. 4) Calculate the volume of oxygen released (L) and the mass of water photolysed. 5) Calculate the amounts (mol) of ATP and NADPH used in the Calvin cycle (fixing 1 CO₂ uses 3 ATP and 2 NADPH). 6) Calculate the mass of starch formed from the glucose and the mass of water released in the process. For each part, write out the law or method used (cross scheme, formulas, reasoning) and all calculations step by step.
